SECOR Certification
Western Edge Contracting achieved our Temporary Letter of Certification (TLC) from the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) in June 2025, confirming that our Health and Safety Management System meets the standards required for SECOR. We are now in the final stages of obtaining full Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR) status and look forward to officially sharing that achievement soon.
Health & Safety System
At Western Edge Contracting, safety isn’t a checkbox — it’s built into how we work. Our custom-built Health and Safety Management System includes a complete HSE Manual, Safe Work Practices, Safe Job Procedures, Formal Hazard Assessments, a Subcontractor Management Program, and modernized digital forms that make compliance seamless with any prime contractor’s requirements. We work closely with an external National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) to review and refine our safety processes at every project phase. From the first cut of dirt to the final grade, we’re fully committed to the safety, health, and well-being of every worker, subcontractor, and client involved in our operations.
WCB Coverage
Western Edge Contracting maintains current and active coverage with the Workers’ Compensation Board of Alberta (WCB), with an excellent standing and industry-appropriate rate. This ensures full protection for our workers, subcontractors, and clients on every job site. Clearance letters are always available upon request.

Western Edge Contracting carries $5 million in Commercial General Liability and $5 million in Commercial Auto Insurance, supported by a robust coverage package designed to protect our equipment, our people, and the property and integrity of our clients. Our insurance program is tailored for the full range of projects we take on — ensuring every job is covered, from the first load to final grade.
